Lee Jung Jae’s directorial debut Hunt starring him and Jung Woo Sung tops Korean box office with over 2 million ticket sales in the first week

South Korean actor Lee Jung Jae’s directorial debut film Hunt topped Korean box office on the first week of its release, surpassing 2 million ticket sales.

According to Korean media portal Soompi, Hunt has officially surpassed 2 million moviegoers on August 16. The film has remained No. 1 at the Korean box office every single day since its release on August 10, topping the box office for seven consecutive days.

To celebrate the achievement, Lee Jung Jae, Jung Woo Sung, and Jung Man Shik performed a short fun skit where Jung Man Shik urgently runs over to Lee Jung Jae and Jung Woo Sung with an envelope. They open it up to find pieces of paper that thank moviegoers for helping them surpass 2 million moviegoers, and they pose with bright smiles on their faces.

Espionage film Hunt hit theaters on August 10 and tells the story of 1980s agents who start suspecting each other of being undercover moles. The film, starring Lee Jung Jae and Jung Woo Sung as elite National Intelligence Service (NIS) agents, was screened at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year.
