Shah Rukh Khan talks about ‘intense’ cinema; says, “Messages are for the postal service, not for films”

Shah Rukh Khan discusses the kind of cinema he does and what he feels about films.

Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan flew to Sharjah to grace the Sharjah International Book Fair 2022 event. The actor was honoured with the Global Icon of Cinema and Cultural Narrative award for his contributions as the ‘International Icon of Cinema and Culture’. During his speech on the stage, the actor spoke on multiple topics, including his take on cinema.

In a video shared by a fan club on Twitter, SRK can be heard saying, “I feel the kind of cinema that I do is for everyone to enjoy, like or dislike. It’s not to learn too much from, I am sorry. I won’t make cinema more intense than that. I have always said, Messages are for the postal service, not for the films’. They should be entertaining.”

At the event, King Khan also spoke about his upcoming releases as well, which are Pathaan, Dunki, and Jawan. When asked if he is feeling nervous as he will be returning to the big screen after a significant gap, the actor replied, “I am not nervous. They are wonderful films. It is a child-like belief. Look I have prepared to my best, I have done my best, and I am going to pass with flying colours. It has happened to a lot of us. At least to me when I was a young kid.”

The actor further added that he feels all three of them will be “superhits”, and “it’s not an arrogant statement”. Elaborating on his stand, he recalled acing his mathematics exam in school and remembered doing very well. However, he only got 3 out of 100. Shah Rukh spoke about the inherent uncertainty surrounding a film’s success.
