Kushal Punjabi passes away: From playing Preity Zinta’s fiancé in ‘Lakshya’ to Priyanka Chopra’s friend in ‘Andaaz’ – here’s his Bollywood filmography

The death of actor Kushal Punjabi has come as a shock for several Bollywood and TV stars. The 37 year old actor reportedly committed suicide at his Bandra residence last night. He was remembered for entertaining fans on the small screen, while in Bollywood, Kushal Punjabi was seen in films like Hrithik Roshan starrer ‘Lakshya’ and Vivek Oberoi starrer ‘Kaal’. Here’s taking a look at the late actor’s memorable Bollywood films.
‘Kaal’

Karan Johar produced ‘Kaal’ featured a thriller narrative about a bunch of friends who decide to venture into a jungle. The risk ride starred Kushal in the role of Sajid, a friend of Vivek Oberoi, Lara Dutta and Vishal Malhotra. A muscular looking Kushal decides to venture into the core area and ends up losing his life in the film.

‘Lakshya’

Kushal Punjabi played the role of Rajeev in Hrithik Roshan starrer ‘Lakshya’. He essayed a close friend of Preity Zinta and eventually the two get engaged. However when Preity Zinta decides to go to Kargil for war reporting, as her future husband, Kushal stops her from going there and that’s when she calls off their engagement.

Andaaz

‘Andaaz’ featured Kushal Punjabi in a cameo, wherein he was a part of Priyanka Chopra’s initial scenes. He played PeeCee’s father’s business partner’s son in ‘Andaaz’ and the duo shot for a scene in a club, where Priyanka meets Akshay. Kushal also shot separately with Priyanka and Akshay for another scene in the film.

 

‘Salaam-e-Ishq: A Tribute to Love’
Kushal had a small part to play in one of the love stories of ‘Salaam-e-Ishq: A Tribute to Love’. Gia, played by Ayesha Takia, is supposed to get married to Shiven, played by Akshaye Khanna. However Akshaye gets cold feet before the nuptials and Gia’s family decides to get her married to Rohit Chhada, essayed by Kushal.
