Saiyami Kher had quite a massive Bollywood debut with Mirzya being directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and starring opposite Harshwardhan Kapoor. Even though the songs were a hit, the film failed to please the critics and audience leading to a bad performance at the box office. While they tried their best, the film was not appreciated by the audience. In an interview, Saiyami Kher explained how producers refused to back her because her debut was not a hit.
She said that because her first commercial film did not perform well, the producers would not consider her. A lot of big producers were initially interested in conducting narrations with her but because Mirzya did not perform well, they backed out of the project. She understands that as a producer they needed someone saleable and if she was a producer, she would too look at these aspects. As of now, she’s glad that she is backed by digital content.
