28th Critics Choice Awards: Kangana Ranaut gives a shout-out to SS Rajamouli for his thoughtful acceptance speech

It was just a few days ago when the SS Rajamouli directorial RRR created history as its song ‘Naatu Naatu’ bagged the trophy of Best Original Song at the 80th Golden Globe Awards. While the win is still being celebrated across the country, there is another reason for celebration. The Ram Charan and Jr NTR starrer magnum opus has bagged two more awards at the 28th edition of the Critics Choice Awards. Heaping praise for the win, Kangana Ranaut lauded SS Rajamouli for crediting his success to the female figures in his life.

For the unversed, in the acceptance speech, SS Rajamouli said, “To all the women in my life, my mother Rajnandani, she thought school education was overrated and she encouraged me to read comics and story books and she encouraged my creativity. My sister-in-law Sreevalli, who became like a mother to me, she always encourages me to be the best version of myself.”

He further added, “My wife Rama, she is a costume designer of my films but more than that she is the designer of my life. If she is not there, I am not here today. To my daughters, they don’t do anything, just their smile is enough to light my life up.” Concluding his speech, he asserted, “Finally to my motherland, India, Bharat, Mera Bharat Mahan. Jai Hind. Thank you.”

Commenting on the same, the Queen actress wrote, “Since Indians are declared the most successful community in the USA and most places be honest, many are wondering how do we do this, even after starting from a scratch most of it comes from our strong family system… we really get a lot of emotional +financial +mental support from our families … and families are build, nurtured and glued together by women.”

Coming back to RRR, the film received awards in two categories; Best Foreign language film and Best Song for its track ‘Naatu Naatu’ in a ceremony held in Los Angeles.
