The Rishab Shetty film Kantara which was written, directed and even featured himself released a while back. Since then, the film has been receiving praise from all quarters. Collecting Rs. 51.56 cr. after 21 days at the box office, Kantara has managed to break into the Top 10 all-time highest Hindi dubbed grossers list. In fact, becoming the eight all-time highest Hindi dubbed South film, Kantara has managed to surpass the collections of previous releases like KGF – Chapter 1 which collected Rs. 44.09 cr. and Karthikeya 2 which collected Rs. 31.05 cr. Though still leading the list are previous releases like, Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion, KGF– Chapter 2, RRR, 2.0, Saaho, Bahubali – The Beginning, and others, Kantara still continues to run in theatres.
Currently, Kantara, which seems to have held its own at the box office despite new releases hitting screens is expected to continue its box office run. Still featuring as an audience favorite, trade predictions state that the business of Kantara will continue to see growth over the coming weekend. In fact, expectations are that the business of the film could near the Rs. 60 cr. mark by the end of its fourth weekend running.
