James Cameron’s visual treat Avatar: The Way of Water begins on an explosive note as its IMAX shows feature exclusive footage from Tom Cruise’s action franchise Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One.
According to Collider, IMAX released a 4-minute behind the scenes teaser, which features Cruise’s heart jaw-dropping cliff jump stunt. This is the same stunt that was featured heavily in the first teaser for the film and sees Cruise jump off a motorcycle and cliff before going into a free fall.
Dead Reckoning Part One, the seventh film in the Mission Impossible franchise, follows up on the events of 2018’s Mission Impossible: Fallout. The film will be the first part of the Ethan Hunt’s final mission.
Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One arrives in theaters July 14, 2023. Besides Cruise, the film also stars Rebecca Ferguson, Simon Pegg, Vanessa Kirby, Hayley Atwell, Pom Klementieff and Henry Czeny.
As both Part One and Part Two were filmed back-to-back, the final film will release soon after on June 28, 2024. Meanwhile, James Cameron’s Avatar: The Way of Water releases this Friday, December 16.
