Paramount+ removes bruises on Jeremy Renner’s face in Mayor of Kingstown poster out of respect

Jeremy Renner, who met with a fatal accident on January 1, is finally on the recovery stage. The actor is currently gearing for the new season of Paramount’s Mayor of Kingstown and the makers have decided to edit the key poster out of respect for his snowplow accident.

Renner’s Mike McLusky was pictured with a bruised face in the original promotional poster released in December for the new season. However, following Renner’s recent fatal snowplow accident, Paramount+ decided to remove all the injuries from the key artwork.

As Variety notes, Renner suffered blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries in Washoe County, Nevada on January 1 while using a snowplow to help a stranded family member who was stuck in the snow in Renner’s car. After two surgeries and time spent in an intensive care unit, the actor recently confirmed on Tuesday that he is now discharged.

“The series follows the McLusky family — power brokers in Kingstown, Mich., where the business of incarceration is the only thriving industry,” reads the synopsis Mayor of Kingstown. “Tackling themes of systemic racism, corruption, and inequality, the series provides a stark look at their attempt to bring order and justice to a town that has neither.” The Renner-led crime thriller marked its return on January 15.
