Babil Khan remembers his father Irrfan Khan on second death anniversary – “I am not yet ready to go on”

Irrfan Khan passed away on April 29, 2020, in Mumbai’s Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital. The late actor was diagnosed with neuroendocrine cancer in 2018 and underwent treatment for over two years. Today marks his second death anniversary. His son Babil Khan paid tribute to him on social media.

After sharing a photo of Irrfan, Babil wrote a lengthy note on Instagram which read, “Dearly beloved baba, I’m trying to remember what scent you wore when we went to Norway to watch the lights dance. I recall the sensation of your perfume but not its materiality. I recall the sensation on my fingertips as you spread my hands to tell me my fortunes, but the thought of the playful pressure on my nostrils frightens me. I have begged and pleaded with the heavens to keep my body from forgetting since my spirit is not yet ready to surrender. I’m not ready to go on, and I’m okay with the chance that I never will be; we were never ruled by logic.”

He continued “I and you, both one-of-a-kind and cosmic. You are the perfect teardrop in my asylum; everything is, yet nothing is. I was aware of but had forgotten, my venomous intonations. You are still there in my thoughts as well as in our insane asylums. I miss your investigations of silence, something I battled with. This is an invention of yours, Babil.”

With Qala, Babil Khan is gearing up for his Bollywood debut. The film, which also stars Triptii Dimri, is produced by Karnesh Sharma’s Clean Slate Filmz and has yet to be released. He will also appear in the web series Railway Men.
