Anurag Kashyap recalls Vicky Kaushal’s arrest during Gangs Of Wasseypur; says, “We were shooting the actual illegal sand mining”

Vicky Kaushal, the man who rules thousands of hearts, has given us several movies. From Masaan and Sanju to Sardar Udham, the actor has time and again proved his mettle as an actor. Before facing the camera for his debut project, Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana, Vicky played a cameo in Anurag Kashyap’s cult-classic Gangs Of Wasseypur. Recently, the cast and makers of Gangs Of Wasseypur appeared on The Kapil Sharma Show to celebrate ten years of the film.

While taking the audience down memory lane, Anurag Kashyap and other cast members shared many lesser-known facts about the film. Amid this, Kashyap recalled the incident when Vicky Kaushal was arrested. It is worth mentioning here that Vicky Kaushal worked as an assistant director on Anurag’s film.

Coming back to the TKSS episode, Anurag spoke about Vicky’s arrest when Piyush Mishra joked that he is shocked every time crew members on Anurag’s films avoid getting arrested. Upon this, host Kapil Sharma, out of curiosity, asked what he meant by that. Then, Anurag explained, “During Wasseypur, Vicky Kaushal went to jail once… We would shoot without permission, and once we were shooting the actual illegal sand mining that the mafia was conducting there. And Vicky got caught,” in Hindi.

Coming to the professional front, Vicky was last seen in Govinda Naam Mera, which was released on Disney+ Hotstar. The Shashank Khaitan directorial also featured Bhumi Pednekar and Kiara Advani. Kaushal has a bunch of projects in his kitty including Sam Bahadur, an untitled Laxman Utekar film opposite Sara Ali Khan, and The Immortal Ashwatthama, among others.

Meanwhile, Anurag Kashyap is currently busy with the promotions of his upcoming film, Almost Pyaar With DJ Mohabbat. Alay F and Karan Mehta are playing the lead, and it is slated to release on February 3.
