Bade Miyan Chote Miyan back on track with a new financial structure; Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff reduce their fees

Earlier in the year, Pooja Entertainment had announced Ali Abbas Zafar’s Bade Miyan Chote Miyan with Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff. The film has been in the news ever since the announcement, as all the talents had signed the film for record prices. While Akshay had come on board for Rs. 144 crores, Tiger and Ali charged Rs. 45 crores and Rs. 25 crores respectively according to media speculation. Following the failure of Heropanti 2Bachchhan Paandey and Samrat PrithvirajBade Miyan Chote Miyan was put on the backburner, as the budgeting was not financially feasible for stakeholders.

The movie was nearly shelved, when finally, all the talents decided to reduce their acting fees. “While Akshay has cut down his fees by 50 percent and entered the hybrid model of working in profit sharing and upfront fees, Tiger and Ali too have reduced their remuneration by 20 to 35 percent. There is an overall reduction of approximately Rs. 100 crores from the 3 talents and this has made the film a viable venture,” a source close to the development informed.

Another source close to the production house however informs us that the acting fees amount out in the media earlier was a figment of imagination. “Which sane mind would spend Rs. 220 crores to just sign the talent? Yes, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan was going to be put on the backburner, but the reason was not just the financial structure. There are a lot of factors involved in filmmaking. The deals with the actors on the financial front are always confidential, and the information leaked was all speculation and there was not an iota of truth to it. The financial structure of the film at present is also known just by the producers, their legal team and the actors in question,” another source told us.

With a revised financial structure in place, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan is on track to release during the Christmas 2023 weekend. The movie is now in the pre-production stage as Ali Abbas Zafar is out on a recce to Europe. The director is planning to take the film on floors from January 2023.
