Balika Vadhu actress Avika Gor opens up on what anxiety and mental issues have taught her about self-love

Balika Vadhu actress Avika Gor is all set to make her Bollywood debut with Vikram Bhatt’s 1920-Horrors Of The Heart. From television shows to movies, the actress has explored several mediums. While she has gained immense experience at such a young age, the actress also battled some major challenges. However, the actress maintained that the bad phase was a learning experience for her that showed her a different approach to life and at the same time, she also discussed about how her maturity often helps her in complicated situations and to make better choices.

Talking about the turning point in her life, Avika Gor said, “I think my turning point was a few years back when I got out of anxiety and mental issues. I would say about thinking that I’m not worth it or I’m not good enough. I think the minute I started practicing self-love is when I started to realise that I’m here to achieve a lot in life. So, I think my turning point was then and after that, even work wise, personal life, I think I have received a lot of kindness from the industry.”

She credited her maturity for helping her stay focused on her work and at the same time, she also expressed gratitude towards her ambitious nature.  “I cannot really compare other people with my work. I started working way too early and started to realize what I’m capable of way too early as well. Maturity levels definitely came early to me. So, I don’t think there’s any kind of competition around but I definitely want to be a better version of myself every day. I should not repeat the same mistakes. I should grow. I’m extremely ambitious and I really think one should be. It can be about anything. I know a lot of people who are ambitious about their 9 to 5 job and I think that’s pretty cool. I think that’s how life should be,” added the actress.

Now Avika is in a great space and couldn’t be more thankful for her life. “My life feels like a dream, to be very honest. A lot of people come up to me and say things like I wish my life was like yours and I think this is like the biggest compliment I could ever receive. So, I think my life, the way it is all like a dream and I’m grateful it is the way it is. Yes, I do believe a lot in keeping check on your goals. I think, for me, the newest dream/goal would be of doing good work, not just in the regional space, in Bollywood as well. I think that’s my dream for now and I hope and wait for it to flourish. I’m looking forward to it. I am pretty excited, a little nervous because I’m not sure how it is going to go but I’m pretty positive about it,” concluded the star.
