Ek Villain Returns Box Office: Film is decent on Monday; collects Rs. 3.02 cr om Day 4

It was a decent Monday for Ek Villain Returns as Rs. 3.02 crores came in. The drop is more than 40% from Friday collections of Rs. 7.05 crores which puts it in a state from where it cannot fall any further from now till Thursday. Had the collections been around the Rs. 4 crores mark, it could have afforded to take that daily 10% fall and still afford to step into the second week with an overall good first week total. Now, it would need to maintain the same collections right through.

It would be tough though since Friday to Saturday jump was hardly there and while Sunday collections had ensured a good weekend, there was still a lot of dependency on Monday. The drop means it’s still working primarily amongst the gentry as single screens continue to contribute more than the multiplexes, which means lower priced tickets are coming into account despite decent footfalls.

The film benefits from the fact that it’s an open week ahead, which means a couple of extra crores benefit would come in. However had Monday been over the Rs. 4 crores mark then it could well have resulted in an additional moolah of around Rs. 5 crores in the second week due to zero competition. With Rs. 26.56 crores so far in its kitty after 4 days, it now has to be seen where does the film eventually land.

Note: All collections as per production and distribution sources
