Inside Twinkle Khanna’s 48th birthday lunch with husband Akshay Kumar, kids Aarav, Nitara and family

On December 29, former actress and author Twinkle Khanna turned a year older. She celebrated her 48th birthday on Thursday with her actor-husband Akshay Kumar, their daughter Nitara, and son Aarav, family and close friends. Giving a peek into her intimate birthday celebration, Twinkle took to her social media handle and shared a couple of pictures.

In the photos, the birthday girl is seen posing with a smile in a green dress while hosting an outdoor family get-together. In one of the candid photos, she had a drink in her hand and appeared to be raising a toast. Meanwhile, Akshay looked at her and flashed a smile. They sat in front of a green patch and a line of coconut trees.

The actor looked dapper in a cap and sunglasses. Another photo in the carousel featured Nitara, Aarav, Akshay and the rest of their family and friends posing for the camera. Instagramming the post, Twinkle wrote, “The perfect birthday with all the people I love the most. Thank you for your lovely wishes and here is wishing you all a wonderful new year ahead!,” in the caption.

Reacting to the post, Malaika Arora commented, “Happy birthday my dear Tina (Twinkle’s nick name)” while actor Bobby Deol extended birthday wishes. Simultaneously, a section of her Insta fam took over the comments section with birthday wishes.

Earlier, in the day, Twinkle had shared a throwback photo, featuring her dad and India’s first superstar Rajesh Khanna. For the unversed, Twinkle shares her birthday with her late father. In honour of his birthday, she posted a nostalgic childhood photo. In the note, she wrote, “A bittersweet shared birthday and a lifetime of memories.”

Born in 1974, Twinkle started her acting career with the 1995 release, Barsaat. She acted in a handful of films. However, she quit acting in 2001 and turned into a producer.
