Justin Bieber postpones remaining ‘Justice’ tour dates after Ramsay-Hunt diagnosis; India concert date remains unchanged – “Needed to make my health a priority right now”

Pop sensation Justin Bieber, who was recently diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome in June, has postponed the remaining dates of his ‘Justice’ world tour. The news comes after the singer recently returned to touring after overcoming his battle with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, which for weeks left the entire right side of his face paralyzed. According to Variety, on Tuesday, the singer said that he needed to take a break from performing “to make my health the priority right now.”

“Earlier this year, I went public about my battle with Ramsay-Hunt Syndrome, where my face was partly paralyzed,” he wrote in a statement. As the result of this illness, I was not able to complete the North America leg of the Justice Tour. After resting end consulting with doctors, family and team, I went to Europe in an effort to continue with the tour.”

“I performed six live shows, but it took a real toll on me,” he further wrote. “This past weekend I performed at Rock in Rio and I gave everything I have to the people in Brazil. After getting off stage, the exhaustion overtook me and I realized that I needed to make my health a priority right now. So I’m going to take a break from touring for the time being.”

“I’m going to be OK, but I need time to rest and get better period I’ve been so proud to bring this show and our message of justice to the world. Thank you for your prayers and support throughout all of this exclamation point i love you all passionately!” Bieber’s tour kicked off in February 2022 and was scheduled to end in March 2023. Covid-19 had forced two postponements even before the singer’s health began suffering.

After Covid-related delays, the star kicked off his tour in March, but suffered a diagnosis of Ramsay Hunt syndrome in June. The tour included 11 shows in the UK in 2023 starting in Glasgow on February 8, 2023, with shows in Aberdeen, Birmingham, Manchester and Sheffield. The illness prompted the Grammy winning singer to postpone the U.S. leg of the tour.

Justin Bieber is set to perform during his Justice World Tour in Delhi on 18th October, 2022 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. The stadium is large enough to hold the capacity upto 1,00,000 audience for concerts. Amid the rescheduling of the world tour, spokesperson from BookMyShow, the promoter of the concert in India, told Rolling Stone India in a statement, “We are aware that Justin Bieber has decided to take a break from touring and wish Justin a speedy recovery,” the statement read. “We admire his decision to put his health first and can’t wait to see him back on the road. Our understanding is the Asia leg of the tour including New Delhi, India in October is set to continue as scheduled.”
