Liger Overseas Box Office: Film drops by 61% on Day 2 at the Australia box office

The much talked about and heavily promoted Vijay Deverakonda – Ananya Panday starrer Liger hit screens yesterday. In the overseas markets, the film which was released earlier opened on a good note. However, reports of Liger’s business on its second day running do not manage to inspire much hope, with certain markets seeing a drop in business.

In fact, in the overseas market of Australia, the business of Liger saw a decline of approximately 61.74% in business on its second day, with USD 21,961 [Rs. 17.55 lakhs] coming in from 60 screens as compared to its Day 1 business. On the other hand, the overseas market of New Zealand has seen an increase of around 38.28% with USD 4,573 [Rs. 3.65 lakhs] coming in from 22 screens compared to its first-day business.

Overall, the business of Liger in the overseas markets has seen a relatively marginal increase in collections on its second day. However, despite the negative reviews and less than appreciative audience word of mouth, trade predictions claim that Liger that faces little to no competition is likely to see further growth in collections on its first Saturday and Sunday running.
