Fans of Nayanthara couldn’t be happier as the actress, who has created waves in cinemas of different South languages, would be now making her Bollywood debut alongside superstar Shah Rukh Khan in Jawan. The actress is known for her power-packed roles on the big screen and now she showcased her strength in real life too by opening up about facing casting couch in the early days of her career. In fact, she recalled the time when she was asked to give ‘favours’ in exchange for a role.
As reported by Indian Express.com, Nayanthara recently opened up about her casting couch experience during a media interaction wherein she revealed the time when she was offered a pivotal role in a film. Although she didn’t get into details, it seems that the actress was asked to do some ‘favours’ in exchange for receiving the opportunity to play the important character in the film. In the same breath, the actress also asserted how she ‘boldly’ refused the offer and also, how she had the self-belief that she would achieve stardom on her own terms.
This is not the first time where Nayanthara has stood up to her image of being a feminist. Earlier, at an awards function, the actress had opened up about how successful women can be subjected to appreciation as well as taunts related to their career. She had stated that people, who often taunt others about their success, continue to taunt, no matter how big the achievement is. In the same speech, she had also mentioned that women work 50 times harder to reach a respectable position, so it would be nice if people are more supportive and encouraging of a woman’s hard work.
Nayanthara will be seen as the leading lady of Jawan which also stars Vijay Sethupathi as the antagonist. The Atlee – Shah Rukh Khan collaboration will feature a mix of Bollywood and South stars in the action entertainer that is slated to release in June 2023.
