South Korean band SEVENTEEN’s The8 will reportedly sit out of the upcoming Jakarta concert due to flu symptoms.
“We would like to inform you that SEVENTEEN member The8 will not be able to participate in the SEVENTEEN WORLD TOUR [BE THE SUN] – JAKARTA Concert,” the artist’s agency Pledis Entertainment announced in a statement, according to the Korean tabloid Soompi.
“The8 visited the hospital as he was experiencing flu symptoms, received treatment, and is currently resting as per to the medical staff’s advice,” the statement explained. “Although the artist himself expressed his strong wish to participate in the event, placing the medical staff’s advice and our artist’s health as a top priority, it has been decided that he will not be attending the Jakarta concert on Wednesday, December 28 (Indonesia Time).”
The agency concluded the statement writing, “We ask our fans who have awaited (for) this concert for your kind consideration. We will do our best to aid in The8’s treatment and recovery, so that he can return in full health to his fans as quickly as possible.”
Meanwhile, the group is set to perform at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium in Jakarta this December 28. The concert will mark their third Indonesia show of the 2022 ‘Be The Sun’ tour, having performed two dates at the ICE BSD in Tangerang earlier this year in September. The Asian leg of the 2022 ‘Be The Sun’ world tour kicked off in Indonesia earlier in September, before heading to Thailand, the Philippines, and Singapore.
