SHOCKING! Pawan Kalyan fan pens a suicide note to Harish Shankar urging to drop Theri remake

Over the past few days a hashtag, ‘We Don’t Want Theri Remake’, has been trending on various social media platforms, including Twitter. For the unversed, there were rumours making rounds on the internet that director Harish Shankar will be collaborating with Pawan Kalyan for a project. On Thursday, Harish confirmed the speculations without revealing the details of the upcoming project. While the maker is yet to officially announce if it would be a remake of Thalapathy Vijay starrer Theri, a Pawan Kalyan fan has written a suicide letter to Shankar.

The fan urged the actor and director to drop the proposed remake. The rumoured remake has irked PK fans because the actor has been a part of a bunch of remakes in the past. In fact, his last release Bheemla Nayak is also a remake of a Malayalam language film, titled Ayyappanum Koshiyum. Earlier, he was seen playing the role of Amitabh Bachchan in the Telugu adaptation of Pink for Vakeel Saab.

Again, it is worth mentioning here that though the collaboration is confirmed, the makers have not made any official announcement stating that the forthcoming film will be a remake of Theri.

Talking about the Thalapthy Vijay starrer, it is a Tamil-language vigilante action thriller film. Released in 2016, the film also featured Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Amy Jackson as the leading ladies. Directed by Atlee Kumar, the film managed to bag numerous awards and accolades. It received a positive response from the audience as well as the critics and emerged as the second highest-grossing Tamil and South Indian film of 2016.

Coming to the professional front, Pawan Kalyan, the 51-year-old actor is currently working on filmmaker Krish’s next directorial, Hari Hara Veera Mallu. Backed by DVV Danayya under DVV Entertainment, the film is slated to release on March 30, 2023.
