Lately, actors Sidharth Malhotra and Rashmika Mandanna are making headlines for their upcoming film, Mission Majnu. The trailer of the film and the first song, ‘Rabba Janda’, have already managed to bag applause from a section of fans. It is worth mentioning here that ever since its inception, fans were eagerly waiting for the duo to share the screen space. However, it broke hearts when the makers announced that Mission Majnu will be released on OTT. When asked about the same, the star cast gave an interesting answer.
It all happened during the song launch when Sidharth and Rashmika interacted with the media present over there. During their chat, a media person asked Rashmika to share her thoughts about Mission Majnu being released on OTT instead of the silver screen. Calm and composed Rashmika addressed the concern, and stated, “This love we receive is what we live for. It doesn’t matter if the film is coming on OTT or in theatres, as long as people watch it, love it, that’s all we want.”
Later, it was mentioned that considering that Rashmika is a “mass” actor in the South film industry, Sidharth jumped in and gave a smart reply. He said, “Instead of bringing the audience to theatres, she is going to their home to entertain them.” In addition, Mandanna asserted, “At the end of the day, we all are entertainers. As long as we have the audience’s love, that’s all that matters.”
For the unversed, Mission Majnu is a patriotic thriller with a love story at its core set in the 1970s. The film is slated to release on Netflix on January 20, 2023. Directed by Shantanu Bagchi, it is jointly backed by Ronnie Screwvala, Amar Butala and Garima Mehta.
