With ‘Thappad’ all set to release on February 28, Taapsee Pannu is busy promoting the film. The trailer has already garnered a lot of response on social media, with fans appreciating the film’s unique story line. Directed by Anubhav Sinha, the film also stars Ratna Pathak Shah, Manav Kaul, Dia Mirza, Tanvi Azmi and Ram Kapoor. Taapsee recently shared a BTS image on her Instagram, which shows her holding a tray with tea. She captioned it, ‘The morning tea specialist…. meet Amrita. #Thappad’.
The actress plays a house-maker in the film where her character refuses to forgive her husband after he slaps her at a party and wants to leave him. The first trailer shows Taapsee as a housewife named Amrita and begins with an advocate asking her why ‘just a slap’ by her husband is prompting her to leave him. Taapsee is heard replying, “Just a slap, but no he can’t do it.”
The trailer then shows us the characters, especially Amrita, who leads a happily married life with her husband till an incident at a party shatters her content existence. It also shows Amrita dealing with questions from people, who tell her not walk out of her marriage and forgive her husband this one time.
