Babil Khan had locked himself in his room for 45 days after Irrfan Khan’s death: ‘I just lost my best friend’

Bollywood actor Babil Khan, who made his debut last year, was deeply affected in 2020 following the death of his father Irrfan Khan. As he continues to remember his father in the most loving way through his social media, the actor had locked himself for 45 days in his room after Irrfan’s death. Today marks the birth anniversary of the actor.

Babil Khan had told Bollywood Bubble during the promotions of Qala, “When it first happened, the first day, I didn’t believe it. One week had passed and it hit then. And then I just went into a really bad spiral. I just locked myself in my room for one and a half months.”

He further added, “Back then he used to shoot so much that he’d be gone for a long shooting schedule. When it just happened, I had somehow convinced myself that he’ll come back after the shooting schedule. And then I slowly started realising that this is an indefinite shooting schedule. He’s not coming back. I just lost my best friend. It was devastating on a level that I can’t really put into words.”

Irrfan Khan passed away in April 2020 following his battle with cancer. The actor was last seen in Angrezi Medium. In an emotional message in March 2018, the late actor shared the news of his cancer diagnosis and that he was getting treated in the UK. While he was getting treated, his older son Babil Khan was studying at the University of Westminster in London, England.

On the work front, Babil Khan made his debut in Anvita Dutt’s Qala which also starred Triptii Dimri. He will next be seen in the web series, The Railway Men based on the Bhopal Gas Tragedy. He is also teaming up with Shoojit Sircar and producer Ronnie Lahiri for their next project.
