Chris Evans, Chris Pratt and other Marvel stars show love and support to Jeremy Renner after snow plowing accident

Days after Jeremy Renner’s snow plowing accident, fellow Marvel stars have come forward to express their love and support to their fellow Avenger. According to Variety, the Hawkeye actor suffered blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries after a snowplow ran over him while he was trying to help a stranded family member in the snow.

On January 4, Renner shared a hospital bed selfie giving an update to fans and thanking for their support and prayers. “Thank you all for your kind words,” Renner wrote in the caption. “I’m too messed up now to type. But I send love to you all.”

“Speedy recovery buddy,” replied his Marvel co-star Chris Hemsworth, who stars as Thor in Avengers franchise. “Sending love your way!” Chris Evans also came to show his support writing, “Tough as nails. Love you buddy.”

“Continued prayers your way brutha,” fellow Avenger Chris Pratt, who leads Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy franchise, added. Avengers: Endgame directors Joe and Anthony Russo also posted, “Sending all of our love, brother, and hopes for a speedy recovery.”

“My brother I love you,” wrote Thor director Taika Waititi. Josh Brolin, who portrayed the villainous Thanos in Endgame and battled Renner’s Hawkeye, also expressed his support for the actor writing, “Close but no cigar. You’re blessed. Quick recovery, brother.”

Meanwhile, actors across the industry including Kate Hudson, Isla Fisher, Penelope Cruz, Jimmy Fallon, Heidi Klum, Vanessa Hudgens, Orlando Bloom and more, also slid in to show their love and support. Recently it was reported that the actor underwent surgery and has been in the intensive care unit.

Jeremy Renner met with an accident on Sunday, January 1 and was airlifted to the hospital. “We can confirm Jeremy is in critical but stable condition with injuries suffered after experiencing a weather-related accident while ploughing snow earlier today. His family is with him and he is receiving excellent care,” his spokesperson informed Deadline.

His reps told Variety, “Jeremy’s family would like to express their gratitude to the incredible doctors and nurses looking after him, Truckee Meadows Fire and Rescue, Washoe County Sheriff, Reno City Mayor Hillary Schieve and the Carano and Murdock families. They are also tremendously overwhelmed and appreciative of the outpouring of love and support from his fans.”

“Based on our investigation, Mr. Renner’s personal vehicle, which was being driven by a family member, had become stuck in the snow near his home,” Washoe County Sheriff Darin Balaam said during a press conference on Tuesday, as reported by Variety. “Mr. Renner went to retrieve his PistenBully or Sno-Cat — an extremely large piece of snow removal equipment weighing at least 14,330 pounds — in an effort to get his vehicle moving.

After successfully towing his personal vehicle from its stuck location, Mr. Renner got out of his PistenBully to speak to his family member. At this point, it was observed that the PistenBully started to roll. In an effort to stop the rolling PistenBully, Mr. Renner attempts to get back into the driver’s seat of the vehicle.

Based on our investigation, it’s at this point that Mr. Renner is run over by the PistenBully. An eyewitness detailed seeing Mr. Renner getting into the PistenBully and not seeing him again until the PistenBully came to a rest in a pile of snow in front of his driveway.”

Sheriff added, “We do not suspect any foul play. We believe this was a tragic accident.” Renner was in India last year for the shoot of his Disney+ docu-series Rennervations. On the work front, Jeremy is set to star in the second season of Mayor of Kingstown, which will premiere on January 15 on Paramount.
