Gandhada Gudi trailer out: PM Narendra Modi lauds the Puneeth Rajkumar starrer; says, ‘Appu lives in the hearts”

Kannada actor Puneeth Rajkumar died in October 2021. Now, almost after a year, his wife Ashwini has unveiled the trailer of his last venture, Gandhada Gudi. The two-minute-forty-second-long trailer offers mesmerising views of Karnataka. It captures the beauty of underwater life, tribals, forests, streams, lesser-known islands and a hidden mountain with the late actor.

Ashwini requested PM Narendra Modi to watch the trailer and share his opinion on the same. Hours after the release of the trailer, the Prime Minister of India took to his Twitter handle and wrote a note for the late actor and his last film. “Appu lives in the hearts of millions around the world,” wrote Modi.

He further added, “He was brilliance personified, full of energy and blessed with unparalleled talent. #GandhadaGudi is a tribute to Mother Nature, Karnataka’s natural beauty and environmental conservation. My best wishes for this endeavour.”

Before making the appeal, Ashwini had shared a throwback picture featuring Puneeth with PM. Captioning the photo, she wrote, “Appu is not in our midst, but his life and work motivates and gives us the strength to embrace the culture of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’. G GMovie celebrates cinema and also holds a mirror to the rich heritage, culture, nature, and diversity of our land”.

The synopsis of the film read: “GG: Gandhadagudi, Dr Puneeth Rajkumar’s final adieu, is a true-to-life, multi-lingual feature film produced by Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar and directed by Amoghavarsha. Dr Puneeth Rajkumar sheds all his stardom and sets out on a journey with Amoghavarsha to discover new stories and unravel secrets in a whole new immersive cinematic experience.

It further read, “#GGMovie is an epic musical celebration of our blessed land, precious culture and incredible stories at an unprecedented scale. Complete with songs and the beauty of nature, it’s a family entertainer.” The film is slated to release in theatres on October 28 in Kannada, Hindi and English.
