Pathaan director Siddharth Anand indicates that John Abraham’s character Jim may not be dead

Pathaan has been creating waves at the box-office with each passing day. Along with it being a treat for action-lovers, the Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone starrer also left Bollywood buffs happy with the ample dose of quintessential masala entertainment in the film. Even antagonist John Abraham aka Jim saw an apt climax of his character like every other Bollywood villain, but, filmmaker Siddharth Anand indicated that this may not be the end of it after all.

Readers would be aware that Pathaan is also a part of the ambitious YRF Spy Universe, which is being created by Aditya Chopra and includes films like Tiger (Salman Khan) and War (Hrithik Roshan) as a part of it. Considering the same, fans are demanding quite a bit of sequels and spin-offs to different characters, including John Abraham fans, who are requesting filmmaker Siddharth Anand to make a spin-off film about Jim. Responding to it in his recent interview with Pinkvilla, Anand said, “It’s too early to talk about anything. I feel Jim’s character does warrant a prequel.”

In the same breath, he went on to also indicate that Jim’s character may not be dead. He continued, “Anything can happen. It’s a universe and you can do anything with the characters – it’s a playground. You can have a prequel to Jim.. oh wait, what if Jim is not dead? What if there’s a harness that pulls a parachute?”

Talking about the Spy Universe, the first step towards this has already been kick-started with many references being added in the Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone film. From featuring Ashutosh Rana as Colonel Luthra (from War) to references being made to Tiger and Kabir (Hrithik Roshan) throughout the film to the cameo of Salman Khan in Pathaan, the crossover seems to be highly likely in the universe. In fact, makers of Tiger 3 have already indicated that Shah Rukh Khan will be doing a special appearance just like Salman in the Katrina Kaif, Emraan Hashmi starrer.
