SF9’s Dawon saves a patient in cardiac arrest at a sauna; to skip fan signing event

South Korean pop group SF9’s Dawon reportedly saved a patient experiencing cardiac arrest in sauna. Following the incident, the artist has decided to skip the fan event scheduled for January 5, today to take some rest. According to Korea tabloid Soompi, on January 5, SF9’s agency FNC Entertainment announced on the group’s official fan cafe that Dawon did his best to administer first aid as instructed by paramedics over the phone. Following the incident, Dawon will take a period of rest and thus miss SF9’s season’s greeting fan signing event.

“We are announcing that SF9 member Dawon will not participate in the season’s greeting fan event scheduled for today (January 5),” the agency said in a statement. “Today, while bathing at the sauna he regularly uses, Dawon witnessed a patient in cardiac arrest.”

The statement continued, “Following the instructions of paramedics over the phone, he did his best to administer emergency first aid, and the patient was handed over to paramedics once they arrived at the scene. After discussions with the artist, we have decided [for Dawon] to cancel today’s scheduled activity and rest.”

“With regards to Dawon’s fan event that was unable to proceed today, we will make another announcement later through Wonderwall.” the agency added. “We ask for the understanding of fans who likely feel disappointed at the sudden news of his absence and we will do our best so the artist can recover stability as soon as possible.”

Meanwhile, SF9 is set to make their comeback on January 9 with their 12th mini album THE PIECE OF9.
