The excitement and hype for the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Pathaan has been increasing with every passing day. But that hasn’t stopped the Hollywood film Avatar: The Way Of Water from quietly continuing its phenomenal run at the India box office. The James Cameron movie has now reached a total of Rs 368.20 crores in the country in its five week run so far.
By achieving this number, Avatar 2 also stands a chance of becoming the highest grossing Hollywood film in India by surpassing the score of Avengers: Endgame, which had a lifetime collection of a mammoth Rs 373.22 crores. Considering that the juggernaut like Pathaan is all set to release in less than a week’s time, we will need to wait and watch if the film achieves that feat.
The highest grossing Bollywood movie is the Aamir Khan-starrer Dangal, which made a colossal Rs 387.38 crore. That score is still some distance away for Avatar 2.
As per the makers of Avatar: The Way Of Water, the film is all set to become the sixth highest-grossing film ever worldwide at the global box office.
Highlighting the film’s another achievement, a note from the makers read, “Avatar: The Way of Water has been selected as one of the year’s top films by the AFI and National Board of Review, with James Cameron and Jon Landau nominated by the Producers Guild of America (PGA) for producing the film.”
