#AskSRK: Shah Rukh Khan responds to questions raised on his Kashmiri background; gives a savage reply to “petty” and “deep” thinkers

Shah Rukh Khan indeed enjoys a massive fan following, offline and online. And, the fact that the teaser of his forthcoming film, Pathaan has already bagged over 66 million views, only on Youtube, is proof of it. Amid the controversy revolving around his film, the actor hosted an interactive Ask SRK session on Twitter. Among many others, a Twitter user asked him why he uses “Khan” as his surname despite coming from a Kashmiri family.

King Khan’s humble-yet-witty reply has impressed many of his fans. In his reply to the question, SRK wrote, “The whole world is my family….family ke naam se naam nahi hota….kaam se naam hota hai. Choti baaton mein mat padho please (You never achieve success because of your surname, success comes because of hard work… Don’t let yourself fall for such petty things).”

The Don actor’s response has garnered over 107k views along with 1,137 re-tweets and over 4k likes, by the time you read it.

Well, SRK did not stop there from helping people who are stuck into such kind of “deep thinking.” He also addressed the question of a Twitterati, who asked him about the purpose of watching his next film Pathaan. “Oh God these people are really deep….what is the purpose of life? What is the purpose of anything..? Sorry I am not such a deep thinker,” wrote the 57-year-old actor.

This is not the first time when SRK has expressed his thoughts on watching cinema with a “purpose” or for a “message”. While attending the Sharjah International Book Fair 2022 event, he had said, “I feel the kind of cinema that I do is for everyone to enjoy, like or dislike. It’s not to learn too much from, I am sorry. I won’t make cinema more intense than that. I have always said, Messages are for the postal service, not for the films’. They should be entertaining.”
