While Ponniyin Selvan is winning hearts in India and abroad, the Aditya Karikalan of this Mani Ratnam magnum opus has moved on to other projects. In fact, adding to his repertoire will be yet another intriguing collaboration with Chiyaan Vikram. His next project will be directed by Pa. Ranjith and the makers have unveiled the title to be Thangalaan along with its title announcement poster as well as a teaser of the film.
Coming to the team of the film, will also feature Parvathy and Malavika Mohanan as the female lead characters. The rest of the star cast includes Pasupathy, Hari Krishnan, Anbu Durai, and few more prominent actors. A. Kishore is handling the cinematography and GV Prakash Kumar is composing the music. Tamizh Prabha is the co-writer of this film and the art department is handled by S.S. Moorthy. R.K. Selva (Editing) and Stunner Sam (Stunts) are the others in the star cast.
The story is set against the backdrops of Kolar Gold Field and is expected to be a period drama. The characters in the film also have been given a distinct look considering the era it is set in. Sharing glimpses of the lead characters including actresses Parvathy and Malavika Mohanan, the makers have shared a teaser of sorts along with the title.
The film crafted and materialized as an action entertainer is produced by eminent Studio Green K.E. Gnanavel Raja in association with Pa. Ranjith’s Neelam Productions at a whopping budget. Speaking about the role in Pa Ranjith’s directorial Thangalaan, it seems that Chiyaan Vikram plays the content-driven hero.
While the film was earlier titled Chiyaan 61, the title Thangalaan was unveiled on the auspicious occasion of Diwali Eve and it has now turned out to be a colossal festive treat for the Chiyaan fans.
