Former LOONA member Chuu to donate all proceeds from ‘Chuu Can Do It’ YouTube Event

South Korean artist Chuu, the former member of female pop group LOONA, will reportedly donate all the proceeds from her YouTube event ‘Chuu Can Do It’ to the Korea Music Development Corporation Aggregate. Last week, Chuu’s personal YouTube channel Chuu Can Do It announced, “All earnings from the sales of items from Jiwoo’s store have been donated to the Korea Music Development Corporation Aggregate.” The announcement also shared a certificate of the donation which lists “Chuu Can Do It – Kim Ji Woo” as the donor.

The certificate reads, as translated by Korean tabloid Soompi, “This certificate is given to thank said donor for donating to the Korea Music Development Corporation Aggregate which will help improve the welfare of musicians. The donated amount will be used preciously towards the independence and music promotions of senior and rookie musicians.”

In November end, LOONA’s agency BlockBerryCreative had claimed that Chuu’s removal from the group was because of her “violent language and misuse of power” toward a staff member. Meanwhile, Chuu responded to the claims by personally denying them.

As shared by the outlet, on December 31, Chuu will team up with fellow ’99 line artists Oh My Girl’s Arin, Weki Meki’s Choi Yoojung, (G)I-DLE’s Yuqi, and Choi Ye Na for a special performance at the 2022 MBC Music Festival.
