South Korean singer Chuu, who was removed from the female band LOONA by their agency BlockBerryCreative, has responded to the reports of the agency’s confirmation on filing a petition against the singer in support of suspending her from the entertainment industry.
According to Korean tabloid Soompi, on February 1, the Korea Entertainment Management Association revealed that BlockBerryCreative submitted the petition in December last year. Per the reports, the agency alleged that Chuu’s actions to sign a new contract with BY4M STUDIO in 2021 were “tampering” which is against management contract.
Following such reports, a source from BlockBerryCreative also confirmed the news on petition against Chuu and shared that they will also submit one against other LOONA members HeeJin, Kim Lip, JinSoul, and Choerry. In response to the reports, Chuu took to her Instagram handle to address the news about the petition.
“Hi, this is Chuu,” the singer wrote on Thursday, as shared by Korea JoongAng Daily. “It is very regrettable and tiring to keep releasing statements in such ways. Recent slanderous news reports that are based on false information have crossed the line.”
Further rebutting the claims made by BlockBerry Creative, Chuu claimed that she “was not even aware of the company BY4M back in December 2021. It is hard to bear for me to see myself and our members getting caught in such lies and I will release a statement shortly in respond to the allegations.”
Chuu was removed from the group back in November 2022 after BlockBerry claimed that the artist used violent language and misuse of power towards a staff member. The singer has since denied the accusations.
